Journalism in Argentina: interview with Miguel Ledhesma

Miguel Ledhesma is an Argentinian journalist. Ten years ago, he created the Organización Mundial de Periodismo Turístico (World Travel Journalism Organization, WTJO). He has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, a technical background in Tourism and a Master’s degree in Education.

Among Ledhesma’s books and articles, some deserve to be highlighted, such as “Periodismo turístico: Muchos principios y algunos finales”, which was published in 2016. Currently, he lives in Buenos Aires and writes about conducts and issues on tourism and teaches at WTJO. Below you can read an interview with him.

Enio Moraes Júnior — How do you assess the training of journalists in Argentina, considering what you have seen both in your generation and in the current generation of journalists?

Miguel Ledhesma — In Argentina we have the possibility of having a great free and good quality offer, but above all it is possible to find a large number of non-traditional, not so behavioral proposals. What I see in the rest of the universities and institutes in other Latin American countries is that education is too expository, the student sits for two hours to listen to a teacher and that’s it.
